Edited in split screen, J-N-N weaves family conversations and research into the Jinn, figures central to Iraqi mythology. Fragmented views of deserts and Baghdad interiors show a society shaped by war, repression and resilience, linking cosmic beliefs with history and memory. The film circles the unspoken, creating an encounter with the elusive and the unseen.

J-N-N ist ein Splitscreen-Film, der Familiengespräche und Recherchen über die mystischen Dschinn, jene Figuren der irakischen Sagenwelt, miteinander verflicht. Bildfragmente von Wüsten und Bagdader Wohnungen zeigen eine von Krieg und Widerstand geprägte Gesellschaft und verbinden kosmischen Glauben mit Geschichte und Erinnerung. Der Film kreist um das Unausgesprochene und schafft eine Begegnung mit dem Unfassbaren und Unsichtbaren.
